The idea for Fassamano was born at a dinner in Milan, where the inability to read a wine label written in small font sparked a conversation about the increasing need for reading glasses. With an estimated one in four people worldwide expected to need reading glasses due to presbyopia in the next decade, Vannini saw an opportunity to create a product that catered to this growing demand.

Fassamano is unique in its design and functionality. These Italian handcrafted glasses are designed to be worn around the neck like a precious jewel and brought close to the eyes when needed. Weighing only twenty grams, the glasses are made of acetate and are crafted using CNC technology. The eye rims are polished with a glossy finish, and the linear nose bridge is made of contrasting metal with a satin finish. This design allows for focused close-up reading power, making it easy to read a message on a smartphone or a restaurant menu.

The glasses are customizable, thanks to the patented rim closure. The metal part is made of German silver, laser cut with galvanic treatments and a protective varnish. This attention to detail and quality makes Fassamano a unique and desirable accessory.

The creation of Fassamano was not without its challenges. The aim was to combine functionality and aesthetics with an iconic and essential design. The packaging was designed to minimize shipping costs while maximizing protection and reducing waste, making it suitable for e-commerce.
